Filmmakers Workshop

Who We Are

Started in 2008, the Emerging Filmmakers Workshops (formerly Young Filmmakers Workshops) have trained over 1,000 students through summer workshops, and year-round film education opportunities.

Developed for teens aged 12-18 as the Young Filmmakers Workshop, now known as the Emerging Filmmakers Workshop. Each workshop provides opportunities for students to collaborate, refine their skills, and work with industry professionals all through the art of film. Led by professional filmmakers and educators, Scott Kinnamon and Neil Truglio, the workshops are designed to reach students at every stage of their storytelling development.

Each summer workshop has been created to engage students all day for two-weeks, with each specialized program designed to help foster the personal expression and power of young voices through the art of filmmaking.

Scholarships are available for students and families of need.
